I have always thought that it is better for technical bloggers to leave out politics, or to put their political opinions in another forum. For example, I think Roughly Drafted diminishes his technical message by mixing it with politics.

But right now, in the case of this post of yours, I don't feel this way so strongly. Perhaps it is because of the moment, and also because I've only recently started to read you regularly, and I feel I'm getting to know you. There is a personal connection is reading blogs, one of their appealing features, and this post about the election helps me know you better.

Anyway, keep up the good work. I always enjoy reading your thoughts.

I have been trying to forget the huge mistake we just made in this election by reading a few of my favorite tech blogs. Then I read this.

Steven I enjoy the information you provide about Linux and open source issues but your political opinions about this election make me want to throw my keyboard across the room. I need some comfort reading today not more drivel on our mistake.

Steven,

You are one of my favorite journalists and still you voted for Obama. I guess we will just have to agree to disagree.
One thing is for sure, your taxes and my taxes will go up assuming Obama wins the election. I could say more, but I think that it is more appropriate that we stick to the virtues of Linux and Open Source solutions. Thanks for all the great articles and keeping us up to data on the increasing growth Linux in the market place and all things related to it.
